Acceptable Use Policy

What you may and may not send through Wapito: consent before contact, no unsolicited bulk messaging, no scraping or harassment, no illegal content, and no rotating numbers to escape a WhatsApp ban.

1. What this policy covers

This policy is part of the Terms of Service and applies to everything you send, request or automate through Wapito, including through an integration platform such as n8n, Make or Zapier and including anything your own customers do through a product you have built on Wapito.

It exists for two reasons. The first is obvious: some uses are illegal or harmful and we will not be the pipe for them. The second is specific to this category — Wapito drives real WhatsApp accounts, and abusive traffic from one customer teaches WhatsApp to distrust the behaviour every other customer depends on.

3. Prohibited uses

You may not use Wapito, and you may not permit anyone using your account to use it, for any of the following.

  • Unsolicited bulk messaging of any kind — cold outreach, promotional blasts, "warm-up" campaigns to purchased lists, or adding people to groups so they can be marketed to.
  • Buying, renting, harvesting or scraping phone numbers, or using the number-check endpoints to test, enumerate or validate a list of numbers you have no relationship with.
  • Harassment, threats, intimidation, stalking, hate speech, or messaging someone who has told you to stop.
  • Anything illegal where you are or where the recipient is: fraud, phishing, scams, unlicensed financial or pharmaceutical offers, sanctions evasion, or the distribution of illegal content.
  • Child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that sexualises minors in any way. Accounts are terminated immediately and reported to the appropriate authority.
  • Malware, credential harvesting, links designed to deceive, or impersonating another person, business or WhatsApp itself.
  • Circumventing a restriction WhatsApp has applied — including rotating numbers, or creating new channels, to continue behaviour that got a previous number banned or timelocked.
  • Evading Wapito's own controls: disabling or working around the send queue, warm-up ladder, cold-send guard or quota limits, or splitting one campaign across accounts to stay under a limit.
  • Reselling access in a way that hides from the end customer that this is an unofficial API with a ban risk, or describing Wapito to your customers as endorsed by, certified by or affiliated with Meta or WhatsApp.
  • Attacking the service: load testing production without permission, probing other customers' data, or using a webhook endpoint to make us send traffic to a third party that has not agreed to receive it.

4. Volume, pacing and new numbers

Even permitted messaging can look like abuse if it arrives in the wrong shape. A brand-new number that sends hundreds of first-contact messages in an afternoon will be restricted, whatever the consent position is.

Wapito paces sends per channel, ramps new numbers through a warm-up ladder and blocks cold sends to people who have never messaged you. Those controls are part of the service, not an inconvenience to be engineered around, and deliberately defeating them is a breach of this policy.

The anti-ban guide explains what these controls do and how to warm a number up properly.

5. What happens when something is reported

We investigate reports of abuse, and our own monitoring flags patterns that look like unsolicited bulk messaging — high first-contact ratios, sudden volume from a young number, repeated blocks by recipients.

Where we find a breach we may warn you, throttle or suspend the channel, suspend the account, or terminate it immediately without a refund for the remaining period, depending on how serious it is and whether it is deliberate. Serious cases — illegal content above all — are terminated at once and reported where the law requires.

If we get it wrong, tell us: write to support with the detail and we will look again. We would rather reinstate a legitimate customer than lose one to an over-eager rule.

The suspension and termination clause of the Terms of Service is what gives this policy its teeth.

6. Reporting abuse

If you have received a message sent through Wapito that breaches this policy, email support@wapito.com with the sending number, the time and a screenshot or copy of the message. We treat those reports seriously, and being on the receiving end of abuse from our own platform is the fastest way to get our attention.

7. Changes

This policy changes as abuse patterns change. The review date at the top always reflects the current version, and a material change is announced before it takes effect.

Draft — under legal review. This document was written by the Wapito team and has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer. It describes how we actually operate and we intend to be bound by it, but wording and the governing jurisdiction may change before launch.
